DAY 114: SGT. SIGLEY LAID TO REST

Randy Sigley, a 2000 graduate of Marion County High School, was laid to rest this weekend. He died while serving our country in Afghanistan. Flags lined the walkway at Bosley Funeral Home on Saturday during his visitation, and the rain poured. He was buried at Lebanon National Cemetery on Sunday - a windy, but beautiful day. The community rallied around the family in support of our home town soldier.

DAY 113: THEY TOOK THE PROM BY STORM!

My niece, Christine, kindly posed for moi before heading off with her date for her Senior Prom. She was so pretty! This picture is one of my faves of many, because for some reason it reminds me of a 1970's Pepsi-Cola model. (What a reason to like it!) Oh well.  I thought about her all night, and was especially concerned for her safety and that of her classmates when a sudden storm came up just when all the kids were riding around...

Here is a picture of the storm from my front door on West Main Street. Scary!

DAY 112: A GIVING SPIRIT

Every Friday afternoon without fail, this elderly gentleman travels to the New Hope Food Bank in search of items that he can share with his family and friends. Nothing seems to delight him more than knowing he has found something to share that will be useful for others.

DAY 111: NO GREATER LOVE

I witnessed this touching scene at Cedars of Lebanon Nursing Home. The elderly father came every day - faithfully - to feed his son, who was a resident there for many years. The son has since passed away.

DAY 110: MANTON CHURCH STEEPLE

An "artsy" rendition of the steeple atop the Catholic Church in Manton, KY.
