Louise Salem Cooks - 1970
This is a scan of an old clipping I have about one of Lebanon's best cooks ever. This article appeared in the Courier Journal in May 1970. I have tasted some of Louise Salem's food and can personally attest to her culinary skills!
My scanner is not large enough and cut off part of the article, but if anyone is interested in the rest of it, I will be happy to send it.

She is an AMAZING cook. And let me tell you her fudge is to die for!
What a true Southern lady!

I have never had her fudge but I've tasted her pies and her pita bread and her stuffed squash. I make that stuffed squash based on her personal recipe+James Spragens' recommendations+my own tweaking. I just love it. But the basic was from her a long time ago. I notice in the stores now you can buy ground pork. Back when I first started making the squash recipe I'd have to ask the meat guy to grind it for me. On Mar 24, 10:32 pm, sittu <sitt...@yahoo.com> wrote:
