More Pictures of Dave

It's a little late tonight, but I've searched the archives and have found a few pictures of our late County Judge Executive, Dave Hourigan that I would like to share with you.

This may be my favorite - Dave with John Greenwell, better known as "Snarepole". Dave loved him, and the feeling was mutual.

One of my favorite local "political pictures" of all time is this one taken one day Ben Chandler had come to town. Dave took him over to Frankie Pott's Barber Shop, and I didn't capture the "best" moments of that meeting, but at least I did get at least one representative shot. I loved the whole down-town street scene...

Speaker of the House Jody Richards had come to town. Dave knew him well from his service as State Rep....

Here, Dave is introducing Ben Chandler, who was running for Governor at the time, to the Marion County faithful. And what a job he did! Dave had a lot of humor, and when he was in charge of the speech I don't think anyone doubted that we had a good time on our hands.

We were waiting for Dave to arrive when I took the picture below. The theme of the race for Governor was cleaning up the mess in Frankfort, and we're not sure what Ben Chandler thought when he saw Dave's desk! I once took it upon myself to "clean up" Dave's desk, but I don't think he appreciated it much----he knew exactly where everything was that he needed and my good intentions may have caused some confusion! Note the drawing of the County Office Building behind Magistrate Caldwell....

Wow! What a group! Thumbs up!
