LISA NALLY-MARTIN: Candidate for DISTRICT JUDGE
Lisa K. Nally -Martin has filed as a candidate for District Judge, 11th Judicial District, Division 1, which includes Green, Marion, Taylor and Washington counties.
Nally -Martin was admitted to the Kentucky Bar Association in May of 1993. She began her law practice with H. Edward O’Daniel , Jr. of Springfield where she practiced for five years. While maintaining a private practice, Nally -Martin served as a Public Defender for Washington and surrounding counties from 1993 until 1996. In 1996, she began serving the public as Assistant Marion County Attorney and still serves in that capacity today. Nally -Martin has thirteen years of experience in District Court.
Nally -Martin began practicing law with Joseph H. Mattingly III of Lebanon in July of 1998. Not only did she continue her service to the public as assistant county attorney, but has practiced a wide range of civil cases as well. She is admitted to practice law before the United States Supreme Court, the United States District Court, Western District of Kentucky and is a member of the American Trial Lawyers Association and Kentucky Academy of Trial Attorneys.
She is a Marion County native. She is the daughter of Dickie and Barbara Nally of Loretto and granddaughter of Albert and Rosie Lee of Raywick . Nally -Martin is a 1985 graduate of Marion County High School. She graduated from Bellarmine College in 1989 with a bachelor of science degree in psychology and earned her Juris Doctorate from the University of Louisville in 1992.
Nally -Martin is the mother of two sons, Evan age 7 and Cameron age 3. She is a member of the Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church.
Nally -Martin has been very involved in community activities while practicing law in the Eleventh Judicial District. She is a long time member of the Springfield Business and Professional Women’s Club. She has served as President, Vice-President, Recording Secretary, Scholarship and Choices Chair on the local level. On the regional level, she has served as Assistant North Region Director and gone on to serve on the state level as Choices and Issues Management Chair. Nally -Martin was chosen as the 1996 BPW Young Careerist and the 1999-2000 BPW Woman of the Year. Nally -Martin also served on the Springfield-Washington County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and ultimately served as President in 1998. Once she moved to Lebanon, she was involved in the 2002 Leadership Lebanon program and is presently serving as a member of the Marion County Board of Education Special Education Monitoring Team.
If elected, Nally -Martin will treat all persons with fairness, dignity and respect and agrees to maintain all the standards set forth in the Code of Judicial Conduct.
