DAY 26: THE OTHER SIDE OF THE WINDOW

DAY 26: THE OTHER SIDE OF THE WINDOW

My little grandson was born on the first birthday W. Terry Ward did not get to celebrate on this earth.

I took that as a sign he would be blessed with all the best in Terry - this child would be very intelligent, no doubt! Of course, I took no stock in the notion he might also be cursed with any shortcomings Terry might have had, such as…umm… no rhythm.

But enough about all that.

I can’t describe the feelings that overwhelmed me when I first viewed my daughter holding this brand new little boy! I couldn’t speak. I just cried.

This is one of the hundred or so pictures I took of my new grandson when he was whisked from his mother’s arms to his first adventure - just down the hall with the nurses.

It was his very first time away from his mom and I dutifully documented it thoroughly.

It was so fascinating to be at that window looking in on all the professional things the nurses do to check out/assess the new arrivals.

All who gathered there wanted to see every inch of this new baby.

I loved this particular nurse who held my grandson because as she did her job she was ever mindful of all the anxious eyes on the other side of the window.
