Joker Poker Run

6/12/06

There were over 100 bikes on this joker poker run last week.
Charlie's was one of the stops.  They were all fed Charlie's great
hamburgers! Lots of cool bikes.

This is from a Talk Marion County24/7 posting from Ma:

got back from a bike trip on friday, and found we had 2 riders from
columbus, ohio, and one from lexington who came to  spend the weekend
with us in our hostel.  rick from columbus is a champ wheelchair
basketball player and rides his BMW bike with all hand controls.
amazing fellow.

took them to the mexican restaurant downtown on friday, had a wonderful meal and good entertainment from the cool waiter.  sat. we rode down to Charlie's in Raywick and watched 120 bikes come through from the Joker Poker Run.  We were fed well, as usual.  Charlie's food is totally great and u definitely can not beat the price.

after riding all through the countryside, we dined at James' Blues on Tap.  it was so cool!  James has a very awesome and unusual menu with very reasonable prices.  We each had something different, and boy was
it delicious!  It was fun to see alot of old friends from town there. Sorry we missed Dawn on Friday.  Didn't realize she was playing.

sunday we rode out to see Jeanne at Penn's store.  lovely little place with great sandwiches.

every guest we get is very impressed with our quaint little ky town, and our beautiful countryside.  we are all very lucky to live such a great place.  it's easy to take it for granted and forget to notice the beauty.  let's all remember how truly blessed we are!                  love, ma
